Doctor Roberto Ravera presents his latest book "Sierra Leone - Anthropology of a world apart".
The book, which is enriched with a precious and conspicuous photographic documentation, is the testimony of a great mental health project for children victims of violence and abuse in Sierra Leone. But it is above all the story of an exciting journey into the anthropology and psychology of man and his multiple ways of living and interpreting the complexity of the world.
From the preface by prof. Vittorio Gallese "Our work in Sierra Leone has given a whole new meaning to our role as neuroscientists, helping to reduce the distance from the real world that those who do our work sometimes perceive, totally absorbed as it is by the scientific problems that excite those who do science. The book you are about to read is the testimony of the commitment, enthusiasm and ability of Roberto and his collaborators in bringing the light of science and the warmth of fraternal sympathy for the Other in one of the poorest corners of the planet " .
